Private law college set on fire by mob in Kashmir

Baramulla, June 16 (UNI) A private law college at Sopore in north Kashmir was set on fire by a violent mob protesting against the alleged anti-Islamic remarks by the college principal.

Hundreds of people today took to the streets at Sopore in Baramulla district and set on fire the college building, damaging its furniture and other infrastructure.

The demonstrators were demanding immediate arrest of the principal for her alleged remarks against Islam.

Police later chased away the demonstrators.

Situation in the area was tense but under control, official sources said.
