Presidential Polls: PM meets Amar Singh
New Delhi, June 16: As notification for next month's presidential polls was issued today, the UPA intensified efforts to seek the support of other parties for its candidate Pratibha Patil, with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh meeting Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh. Mr Singh called on the Prime Minister at 7 Race Course Road around 1315 hrs and remained with him for about half an hour, sources said.
The talks between the two leaders took place two days ahead of the meeting of the recently launched Third Front, of which the Samajwadi Party is a constituent, to be held in Chennai to announce their presidential candidate.
