Pre-monsoon showers bring some relief to Mumbaikars

Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) The showers that brought welcome respite for Mumbai the past two days are pre-monsoon showers, according to the Meteorological Dept and the actual monsoon showers are expected in two or three days.

For many in the city, last two days rains were a cause for celebrations. ''After an unexpectedly hot and humid summer, its about time,' says Idris Shah, a shopkeeper at Crawford market.

''Though the rains are a relief, it will bring with it a host of problems too. Let us see if the BMC has done its work,'' said Mamta, a Kandivili housewife.

''Where are the rains? These are just sporadic showers and we should not it as the 'real thing', because there still is a lot of heat,'' says Rajender Choubui, a paanwala at Fort.
