Metal prices decline on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, June 16 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper utensils rose by Rs 100 per quintal on better buying support, while aluminium utensils fell by Rs 100 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars, aluminium ingots and zinc slab eased by Rs 200 each per quintal while lead ingots came down by Rs 100 per quintal on increased offers from stockists. Tin slab went up Rs two per kg on increase of fresh demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,300, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,600.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,800, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 702 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,900 (per kg).
