Maoists blast transmission towers, transformers

Visakhapatnam, June 16 (UNI) The banned CPI Maoists blasted two 'APgenco' transmission towers and power transformers using detonators at G K Veedhi mandal in the district in the early hours today.

A group of Maoists blasted the transmission towers at Sileru by planting landmines around the towers and transformers, according to information received here.

Consequently, power suppy to several villages in and around Sileru was disrupted.
