Man rescued after 6 months' confinement, brother arrested

Kolkata, Jun 16 (UNI) After being forcibly kept in confinement for more than six-months, an old man was rescued by the police today from his residence at Baruipur in South 24 Parganas.

The man's brother and his wife were later arrested.

Baruipur police here said Srikumar Naskar had been sent to a local hospital for treatment. The man was traumatised and suffering from acute malnutrition.

Neighbours alleged that Srikumar Naskar's brother Nirmal Naskar, a teacher by profession, and his wife kept him inside the dark dingy room for the past six months as they were after his property.
