Freedom fighter Chack passes away

Pathanamthitta, Kerala, Jun 15 (UNI) Noted freedom fighter and former MLA N G Chacko died today at his home in Naranganam following prolonged illness.

He was 92. He is survived by four sons and three daughters.

The funeral would take place on June 18 at 1200 hrs at Naranganam St Thomas Marthoma Church cemetery.

During his student days, Mr Chacko had plunged into freedom struggle. He was arrested and jailed for waving black flag in protest against the visit of Lord Wellington, the then British Governor General.

He was elected from Omalloor constituency to the Travancore- Kochi Legislative Assembly in 1954.
