Ujjain, MP, June 16 (UNI) Eight antelopes were killed by about half-a-dozen dogs that entered the animal's cages early today at the Vikram Vatika zoo here, Forest Department sources said.

The carcasses were buried at the Vatika this afternoon after postmortem. Zoo employees managed to kill one of the dogs.

More than 30 antelopes died in mysterious circumstances at the Vatika on Diwali night last year. Later, a state government order said surviving antelopes be shifted to Indore's Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary. However, that directive's implementation was halted midway as several antelopes died during the shifting.
