Dhumal resigns from Himachal Assembly seat
Shimla, June 16 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today resigned from the State Assembly after being elected as member of the Lok Sabha from Hamirpur constituency.
He met Assembly Speaker Gangu Ram Musafir and handed over his resignation to him, Vidhan Sabha Secretary JR Gazta told UNI here.
Mr Dhumal was leader of the BJP legislature party in the assembly and represented Bamsan assembly seat in Hamirpur district before being elected from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency recently.
He was Chief Minister of the state from 1998 to 2003.
