Delhi's 1st CM remembered on 89th birth anniversary

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Assembly Speaker Ch Prem Singh and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit were among a host of politicians who paid tributes to the city's first Chief Minister Brahm Prakash on his 89th birth anniversary.

At a function organised at the Delhi Assembly at Old Secretariat, Speaker Ch Prem Singh said as the chief architect of Delhi's development, Ch Brahm Prakash took the cooperative movement to the villages that transformed the lives of the poor and downtrodden.

Earlier, several leaders including Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit offered floral tributes at the statue of the freedom fighter at Old Secretariat and participated at the 'sarv dharm' prayer meeting organised to mark the occasion.

An exhibition of rare photographs of the late Chief Minister has also been displayed at the Old Secretariat on the occasion.
