CRPF constable and boy commit suicide, body found in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 16 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable and a boy commited suicide while a body was recovered in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said.

They said despite introduction of 'Art of living' and Yoga classes to help security forces, engaged in counter insurgency operation in the Kashmir valley, to come out from the mental stress, a head constable G D Bardaie shot himself with his service rifle inside the training centre at Humhama.

He was immediately takes to hospital where doctors declared him dead.

About 30 security force personnel commited suicide in the Kashmir valley during the past two years.

About a dozen other security personnel have been killed by their colleagues in the Jammu and Kashmir in the recent past.

A soldier was given death penalty by an Army court for killing a Lt Colonel in a Harwan camp last year.

A police spokesperson said an unidentified boy jumped into river Jhelum at Sumbal in north Kashmir this morning.

A massive search operation has been launched to fish out the body of the boy.

He said one Chandar Mohan Prana was found dead at fruit mandi Parimpora, under suspicious circumstances.
