Agricultural scientist Tayyab passes away

Akola, June 16 (UNI) Dr M A Tayyab, who is credited with introducing several cotton varieties, has passed away at the age of 75.

Dr Tayyab passed away yesterday and leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Dr Tayyab is credited with the development of several cotton varieties including 468 (PKV-2) and AKH-4. He had taken over charge as senior cotton scientist at the Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth here during 1973.

Expressing grief over the passing away of Dr Tayyab, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth vice chancellor Dr Sharad Nimbalkar has said the agricultural sector in Maharashtra has lost a great scientist.
