290 kg poppy husk seized in Moga

Moga, June 16 (UNI) The police here seized about 290 kg of Poppy Husk from Baghapurana and Kishanpura in Dharamkot area overnight.

Devinder Singh Garcha today said 210 kg poppy husk was seized by the Dharamkot police from Kishanpura village last evening but the unknown poppy husk smugglers escaped from near the drain bridge before the police arrived. The police seized the abandoned contraband and had registered a case against unknown persons.

Baghapurana police recovered 80 kg of poppy husk --- 70 kg from Sekha Kalan village and 10 Kg from Laina village and arrested two notorious smugglers in this respect.
