'World Awareness Day against Elderly Abuse' observed

Lucknow, June 15 (UNI) With a view to sensitising people towards the plight of the elderly, the 'World Awareness Day against Elderly Abuse' was observed here today.

On the occassion, A K Singh of Help Age India and Commanding Officer of 2 Uttar Pradesh Naval Unit NCC Battalion V S Chauhan flagged off the rally of 250 NCC cadets in the early hours at Gandhi Park, Hazaratganj.

While addressing the cadets, Mr Chauhan expressed hope that their efforts would help to focus the attention of public towards the menace of ''elderly abuse.'' He further complemented the cadets for their participation in such a noble task and expressed hope that all of them would live for the NCC motto of 'Unity and Discipline'.
