Orissa: Woman Maoist leader arrested
Rourkela, Jun 15: A patrolling CRPF unit nabbed a woman Maoist, wife of a wanted Maoist leader from Bhalulata market, about 30 km from here under Bisra Police station yesterday.
Rourkela Deputy Superintendent of Police Gopal Tripathy said the woman, identified as Banita, alias Sushila, was taken into custody while she was on her way to the market.
He said Sushila was leading the 'Platoon number 22' in the area and her operation was mostly concentrated inside the Saranda forest, close to Jharkhand border.
She was also involved in a looting case in Lathikata in 2005. Mr Tripathy said police interrogation was still on to find out her involvement in other crimes in the area.
