UP govt institutes probe into CPMT results
Lucknow, June 15 (UNI) After widespread protest against irregularities in the results of the Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT), the state government has announced a probe into the issue.
State medical education minister Lalji Verma has ordered a probe into the issue after a delegation of the students met him here this morning.
The minister assured the students he would look into their allegations and said that the preliminary probe report will be published by Monday, at any cost.
''Government, at any cost, will not spare those guilty, found involved in the irregularities'', Mr Verma asserted.
Earlier, students' protests were reported from Allahabad, Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut and other parts of the state since yesterday after allegations were made that CPMT results were ''rigged.'' In the UP CPMT results out of the total 80,572 examinees only 15,086 candidates were declared qualified.
