Snowfall in Dhauladhar Ranges in HP
Dharamshala, Jun 15 (UNI) The high altitude areas of Dhauladhar Ranges in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today experienced unexpected spell of mild snowfall, while the lower areas of the district were lashed by heavy rains, which affected normal life.
The unexpected snow in the higher ranges, overlooking the Kangra Valley, during the summer season has overjoyed the tourists.
The snow has plummeted temperatures in the Valley, which recorded a night temperature of 20 degree Celsius.
Normal life was affected in the Kangra town after it witnessed heavy rainfall for three hours early today, recording 70.3 mm of rain.
The downpour, which started at 0615 hrs, continued till 0900 hrs, triggered landslides and snapped power lines. Vehicular movement was also disrupted.
According to preliminary estimates, no loss of life has been reported till now, official sources told UNI
