SEBI prohibits STA from carrying business
Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has prohibited Messers MCS Ltd, a registrar to an issue and Share Transfer Agent, from undertaking fresh business for a period of 15 days.
The SEBI has penalised the firm for their role in the public issue of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC), Power Trading Corporation of India Ltd and Bank of Maharshtra, a SEBI release said.
Meanwhile, with another order, the SEBI has issued warning to Mahesh Kumar Damani, a member of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), asking the broker to be careful in the future while dealing in securities.
The SEBI has disposed of the enquiry proceedings against Mr Damani in connection with the violation of the capital market regulations by them.
