SASMIRA to hold two-day seminar on textile retail
Mumbai, Jun 15 (UNI) The Synthetic and Art Silk Mills Research Association (SASMIRA) will organize ''Namaste Retail'', a two- day seminar on the retail industry from June 22-23, at the institute premises at Worli, a release said.
The seminar will focus on textile retail synergy, its potential and opportunities, retail scenario- its impact on Indian economy, strategies and role of education. The seminar will be attended by a number of distinguished industry captains.
The seminar has been planned in preparation of an expected 40 per cent CAGR growth in the Rs 90,000 crore organized retail industry.
The retail industry is expected to touch the Rs 2,50,000 crore mark in the next five years and will provide 2.5 million jobs.
SASMIRA will also be launching a four course retail education programme- SASMIRA Retail Education Programme (SREP).
SASMIRA was established in 1950 to provide scientific and technical assistance to textile and its allied industries. The institute has trained and placed more than 15,000 students all over the world, and is also linked to the Ministry of Textiles, the release added.
