Sachin down with flu, keeps away from Skill Camp

Bangalore, Jun 15 (UNI) Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who was seen in full action during the first two day's of the cricket skill camp in progress here, did not take to field today due to a bout of flu.

Sachin's absence was noticeable, even as other 14 players went through the rigours of the camp. During the day long sessions, the onus was on catching as players, divided into two groups, were made to run, dive and scramble by Robin and Venky. Fielding drills and physical exercises also formed part of the camp. The players batted in the centre wicket for some time in the morning.

Team physio John Gloster, physical trainer Gregory King and specialist coaches Robin Singh and B K Venkatesh Prasad took active part in the day's proceedings.

Former captain Saurav Ganguly who received a hit on his ankle had no problem in taking part in the day-long camp.

BCCI sources said the illness of Sachin was minor and he was likely to come out and practice tomorrow.

The four-day camp ends tomorrow.

The team leaves for Ireland from Mumbai on June 19.
