Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Item girl Rakhi Sawant along with other members of Hill Rock society, Oshiwara, met BMC Commissioner Jairaj Pathak regarding garbage collection in their society today afternoon.

Ms Sawant gave a written complaint to the BMC Commissioner and requested the commissioner to take suitable action for the unremoved garbage collected at the entry point of Hill Rock society, where she resides.

Ms Sawant told media persons that the garbage collected in the society is causing a lot of problem to the members and something should be done about it.

Meanwhile, Mr Pathak in a press conference today said, ''The residents of Hill Rock Society have requested the BMC to shift the position of the garbage collection centre from the entrance of the society to some other place as stink emanates from the point and there have been cases of malaria in their society.'' The BMC commissioner further added that there is a MHADA lay-out and before acting on the complaint, ''we will have to acquire the lay-out from the MHADA or ask them to do it''.

The residents of the society have pointed out that Raigad Educational school and City International school are in the vicinity of the societies, which is surrounded by slums and the drainage water runs on the road.

Pathak has assured the residents of Hill Rock society that the problem will be solved in a week's time.
