Pratibha Patil will make a good President:MPCC

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today said Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil, with her vast legislative experience and efficient administration skills, had all qualities to assume office of the President.

State unit spokesman Hussain Dalwai told mediapersons here that Ms Patil, who was the ex-state unit chief of the party, ''was well versed with the Indian Constitution.she has been a humble person Throughout her political career, and never compromised on the culture and traditions of the country and had respect for all religions, secularism, caste-free society, parliamentary democracy and nationalism''.

He said if Ms Patil is elected President, it would be an honour not only to women but the entire country.

Mr Dalwai informed that the state Congress had decided to organise a meeting of elected representatives of local self governing bodies at Nagpur on sunday next.

Zilla Parishad presidents, vice presidents, chairman and members of the panchayat samitis, councillors, corporators, municipal council presidents and members belonging to Congress party, ex-Presidents of the state unit, MPs, MLAs, officebearers, heads of frontal organisations have also been invited, Mr Dalwai added.
