Opposition party MLAs meets Speaker on GO 610

Hyderabad, Jun 15 (UNI) The opposition party MLAs and members of the House Committee on GO 610, providing for employment to locals and repatriation of non-local government employees from Telangana region, today met Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy and urged him to immediately convene the Committee meeting.

Speaking to newspersons here after meeting the Speaker, Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MLA Harish Rao alleged that the government was not sincere in implementing the GO and postponed five meetings scheduled to be held in June, as seven non-Telangana MLAs resigned from the membership of the Committee recently.

Pointing out that the postponement of the meetings would degrade the dignity of the Assembly, he alleged that the government had bowed to the pressure of non-Telangana MLAs, who were opposing the implementation of the GO.

CPI Floor leader Ch Venkat Reddy, BJP Floor leader G Kishan Reddy and CPM MLAs also met the Speaker.
