Metal prices rise on increase in demand
Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Metal prices rose on increase in industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils went up by Rs 200 per quintal each on lesser stock supply. Brass utensils and brass cutting also edged up by Rs 200 per quintal each on heavy demand from retailers.
In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab inched up by Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively amid better buying support.
Nickel cathode was down by Rs 25 per kg on poor demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,200, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,700.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,100, Tin slab - Rs 700 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,900 (per kg).
