India, US discuss nuke non-proliferation
New Delhi, June 15: Even as the Secretary-level talks between India and the US on the nuclear deal are yet to produce a result, the two countries have discussed nuclear non-proliferation, export controls and global efforts to prevent illegal transfer of material and technology. A delegation led by Mr John Rood, US Acting Under Secretary of State for International Security and Non-Proliferation, held bilateral talks with a team led by Mr K C Singh, Additional Secretary (International Organisations) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
During his visit, Mr Rood also called on Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon and PM's Special Envoy Shyam Saran, the foreign office said.
