Heavy rain in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, June 15 (UNI) The South West monsoon was active over Kerala and Lakshadweep as most places in the two regions Received heavy rains.
The highest rainfall of nine cm was received at Kozhikode, the local department said here today.
Vadakara and Karipur Airport received 7 cm of rains, followed by Thalassery and Koilandi -- 6 cm each.
Kannur and Kasargode received 5 cm of rains each.
Heavy rain would occur at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep over the next 48 hrs.
The office warned of strong onshore winds from the westerly direction with speed reaching 45-55 kmph along and off Kerala coast and Lakshadweep.
