HC appointed panel visits Tihar

New Delhi Jun 15 (UNI) The Delhi High court appointed fact finding committee, constituted in the aftermath of the death of seven inmates in Tihar Jail, today visited the central prison here.

The committee will present its findings before the court on Monday.

Seven inmates at the high security prison died within a span of eight days. The court appointed the committee on a PIL by a social worker seeking to improve conditions at the Asia's biggest prison.

The Court had earlier issued notices to Tihar authorities and the Delhi Government seeking reply for the cause of deaths of the inmates in ''mysterious circumstances''.

Delhi High Court Registrar (Vigilance) R K Gauba, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini and advocate and vice president of the Delhi High Court Bar Association J P Singh are members of the committee.
