Governor greets Mizos on YMA Day

Aizawl, Jun 15(UNI) Mizoram Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) MM Lakhera today greeted the people to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Young Mizo Association (YMA), the largest NGO in Mizoram.

Since its establishment in 1935, the YMA has been playing a pivotal role in preservation of Mizo cultures and tradition.

"YMA is a selfless organization which stands for the poor and the needy, I hope that all the members will rededicate themselves to fulfil the YMA's principles on the occasion of this rising day," the governor said in a message.

The YMA, founded by English missionaries in Mizoram in 1935, now has more than 700 branches all over Mizoram and some parts of Manipur, Tripura, Asom, Nagaland and Meghalya where there are Mizo communities.
