Four Vet students from Bihar arrested for proxy appearance in CEE

Guwahati, Jun 15 (UNI) The CID has arrested four veterinary students hailing from Bihar on charges of appearing in combined entrance examination (CEE) medical tests counterfeiting other candidates.

The accused - Mehboob Alam, Simanta Kumar Singh, Rakesh Sarma and Subhas Kumar - appeared in the CEE tests on behalf of other candidates in this year's CEE tests.

All the accused from Bihar and are veterinary students. The were forwarded to police remand.

The health department had indicated that at least 13 students have been found guilty of getting admission in medical colleges by proxy, and probe was under way to unearth the irregularities.

An uproar was created following reports that there were also gross anomalies in allotment of the Central quota seats in the three medical colleges of Asom.
