Extn of Delhi Laws (Special Prov) Act not a permanent solution: BJP

New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) Stating that the extension of the Delhi Laws (Special Provision) Act was not a permanent solution, the Delhi BJP today demanded that the Centre frame a special law to implement the Amnesty scheme for providing permanent relief from sealing and demolition.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Harshvardhan demanded that the Central Government should frame a special law to implement the Amnesty scheme for providing permanent relief from sealing and demolition to the properties in Delhi so that houses and business of lakhs of people may be saved.

''The extension of the Delhi Laws (Special Provision) Act is not a permanent solution,''he said.

He told that just after coming to power in the MCD, the BJP had passed and forwarded a resolution to implement the Amnesty scheme to the Central Government, along with a recommendation to implement it.

''Now the ball is in the Central Government's court and it depends on them whether they want to provide permanent relief to the people of Delhi or it wants to make them victim of sealing and demolition,''Dr Harshvardhan said.

He alleged that despite a one year extension to the Delhi Laws (Special Provision) Act implemented in May, 2006, the people are not going to get permanent relief.

''The sword of sealing and demolition will always be hanging on the heads of the people. The only honourable solution is that Amnesty scheme be implemented. It will provide relief to all,''he added.
