Express train hits buffalo; suffers 1 hr detention
Chennai, June 15: The Madurai-bound superfast Pandian Express from Chennai Egmore suffered a detention for an hour between Trisoolam and Pallavaram suburban stations following a slight damage to the cowcatcher of the engine after it hit a buffalo last night
Railway sources told sources that the bovine was killed on the spot
Technical staff from Tambaram and Egmore rushed to the spot and repaired the cowcather and other damaged parts of the engine. After carrying out the works the train resumed its journey, the sources added.
All up and down trains were diverted on the parallel track, following the incident
