Aged man dead in accident

Jaunpur, Jun 15 (UNI) An aged man died on the spot and his grandson was grievously injured in a road accident in Madiaon area, here today.

Police said, Balgovind Patel (65) of Usraon village and his grandson Vivek were coming to Jaunpur on a motorcycle, when they were hit by a speeding jeep near Sheetalganj market.

Patel sustained severe wounds and died on the spot, while Vivek was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

The jeep driver fled the scene leaving behind the vehicle, which had been impounded by the cops.
