19 sentenced for attempt to murder

Mandsaur, MP, June 15 (UNI) A local court has sentenced 19 people to three years'imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000 each for attempting to murder six members of a family on July 6, 2003 following poll rivalry.

Additional Sessions Judge Ramnarayan Choudhary awarded the punishment yesterday to Kushalsingh, Narendrasingh, Bhanwarlal, Kishoresingh, Bhagusingh, Chandraprakash, Raghunath Teli, Saligram, Nathusingh, Bagdiram, Vijayprakash, Takhtsingh, Tejsingh, Shankar Singh, Balwantsingh, Dhoolsingh, Parvatsingh, Ishwarsingh and Gopal Singh.

According to the prosecution, the accused barged into one Shrikrishan Kumawat's house in Katlar Panchayat and beat up six people including Kumawat's wife Kaushalyabai who was then a village sarpanch.
