15 Shiv Sena activists held in Kolhapur
Kolhapur, June 15 (UNI) As many as 15 Shiv Sena activists, including district chief Rambhau Chavan and city unit chief Sanjay Pawar, were today arrested for allegedly manhandling and beating former district party chief Vinayak Salokhe.
Chavan and Pawar accompanied with 9 activists went to the party office located at Shahu stadium premises here, where Mr Salokhe was seated with his 4 supporters. A quarrel ensued between the two groups over who would occupy the office, leading to assault by Chavan and Pawar on Mr Salokhe, police sources said.
Both the groups later lodged cross complaints. Following which, 9 activists of Chavan-Pawar group, including the duo, 5 members of Salokhe group, including Salokhe, and ex-office bearer Dileep Patil were apprehended.
All the arrested accused were later released on bail by a local court, sources added.
