Vamsadhara Project dedicated to nation

Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, June 14 (UNI) Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today pressed a button opening the sluice gates of the Vamsadhara Project Right Main Canal covering 29,600 acre ayacut in 166 villages in seven mandals of the district.

Speaking after dedicating the project to the nation, Dr Reddy said farmers benefited from the project which was undertaken as part of the 'Jalayagnam.' The two canals (left and right bank) would irrigate 1.48 lakh acre. The project cost Rs 163 crore, he said.
