UP 14 killed in separate accident

Lucknow, Jun 14 (UNI) At least 14 people were killed and 76 others grievously injured in separate accidents in Uttar Pradesh in last 24 hours.

The accident occurred near Ghasra station in Etawal district, when three passengers aboard Mahananda Express jumped off the train and were crushed by on coming Howrah-Kalka Express.

Earlier, five death were reported.

At least three people were killed and five others seriously injured in Chopan area of Sonebhadra, when their jeep, rammed into a roadside tree.

Notorious Bawaria gang head Shyam Singh Bawaria and Special Operation Group (SOG) of UP police constable Meharban Singh were killed and seven others critically injured, when their jeep collided with a tree and fell in a gorge late yesterday in Derapur area of Kanpur 'dehat.' History-sheeter Bawaria was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 and after arresting him the police was on way to Auraiya on being tipped-off about the presence of his associates there.

Two motorcycle borne people were killed after they were hit by a speeding truck on Lucknow-Varanasi national highway in Badlapur area of Jaunpur.

Later in Mirzapur, two youth died in a collision between a utility vehicle and a motorcycle in Chilha area near Hanuman Nagar, they were on way to O B Coorporative Factory.

In Mahoba, two brothers were electrocuted after coming in contact with a high tension wire near Khajuraho railway line at Chandu village.

About 60 people took grievously ill after consuming adulterated food at a marriage function late yesterday in Lamau village of Chilla area in Banda.

In Bulandshahr, four people, including two minors, were severely wounded in an explosion, while making crackers at Nur Mohd shop in Ahmadgarh area yesterday.
