UHBVN to augment capacity of 33KV substations

Chandigarh, Jun 14 (UNI) Under its ongoing plan to strengthen the distribution system, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to augment existing capacity of 20 existing 33KV substations at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore during the current financial year.

A Nigam spokesman said here today that the capacity of 33KV substationa at Bhud Kalan, Sasrauli, Garhi Birbal, Singhana, Sugar Mill Sonepat, Bhalout, Kinana, Keorak, Teek, Farmana, Teontha, Pharal, Murthali, Bahalgarh, Nigdhu, Jakholi, Paprala, Sector-6 Karnal, Sector-12 Karnal and Khanpur Kalan would be augmented to ensure uninterrupted power supply with better voltage.

He said the Nigam would install additional power transformers for augmentation at most of these places. It had been decided to replace power transformers with higher capacity transformers at some places.

In all, 93.6 Mega Volt Amperes capacity would be added to strengthen the substations.

The spokesman said the Nigam would also augment its overall transmission capacity by setting up 36 new 33KV substations during the current financial year.
