Two killed in mishap on NH33

Jamshedpur, Jun 14 (UNI) Two persons, including a teenager, were killed and as many injured when they came under the wheels of a speeding truck at Bedahatu village on National Highway 33 near Ghatshila yesterday.

Police said a middle-aged woman and her nephew were loading vegetables when the killer truck hit them. Both died on the spot.

Two others who sustained injuries were admitted to the MGM government hospital here.

The truck overturned due to the impact and the driver and the cleaner managed to flee.

Irate villagers staged a road blockade which led traffic jam on the highway for hours.

The agitators,however,lifted the blockade after government officials, who rushed to the spot, assured them to provide adequate compensation to the next of kin of the deceased, police said.
