Mumbai June 13 (UNI) There was no perceptible celebration on the acquittal of Iqbal Kaskar, brother of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, in the infamous Sara Sahara case.

The reason being that Iqbal Kaskar had himself ordered his well wishers not to indulge in any celebrations on his release. The celebration was, therefore, suppressed in areas like Nagpada where the don's brother has considerable influence.

However, a large number of well wishers had gathered in the court to catch a glimpse of Kaskar who has been in jail since mid 2003.

Kaskar was taken to the Arthur Road jail late evening where he will spend his last night behind bars.

Iqbal looked relaxed. In a brief interaction with waiting mediapersons, he said, ''I am going to relax. I have no intention to enter politics.'' During the last assembly elections, Iqbal Kaskar had tried to contest from the Umarkhadi constituency of South Mumbai from jail.

He, however, could not contest since his name did not figure in the voters list.

Meanwhile, top police sources attributed a different reason to the low-key celebrations today. According to them, many of the Dawood aides who are still active, did not want to come out in the open as that would have put them under the police scanner.

Sources said Kaskar's acquittal was celebrated by distributing sweets in Tamker Mohalla of Nagpada and Musafir Khana, which was once considered as the bastion of gang activities in the metropolis.
