Striking municipal employees warned

Puducherry, June 14 (UNI) Local Administration department Director E Vallabhan today warned the municipal employees of stern action under conduct rules if they continued with their strike.

In a release here, he said the Government had initiated steps to concede the demands of the workers, on strike since June five. A three-member committee was assessing the request of the employees for restructuring the cadre. Under the circumstance, the Government viewed the matter seriously and the mass leave applied for by the employees had also not been sanctioned, he added.
