state govt moots joint registration of property

Mysore, June 14 (UNI) Karnataka Women and Child Welfare Minister H K Kumarswamy today said that a system would be introduced for a joint registration of both husband and wife those who opt for the government benefits in future.

Addressing the newsmen here he said that his ministry would discuss with the Revenue department in this aspect for a joint registration of the properties either it may be regarding sites, lands.

It was necessary for the inclusion of woman's name in the registration to help them to have a hold over the property, he said.

Stating that the government has already declared the implementation of 33 per cent of jobs and reservations in all departments for women he said that some of the departments were yet to complete the targets.

He said the government would open 3,000 more anganawadi centres in the state during this year. He said that 50 Stree Shanthi Bhavans would be constructed across the state and each Bhavan would cost Rs 15 lakh.
