Standing Committee meet adjourned

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was adjourned here today over 'inaction' by authorities on the attack on BJP corporator from Mulund.

Corporator Manoj Kotak was allegedly attacked by the octroi mafia at Mulund some days ago, after he had complained to the authorities regarding large scale malpractices in the octroi department. He had complained to the authorities regarding some trucks that enter the city without paying the octroi charges, thereby causing immense loss to the Corporation's treasury.

Yogesh Sagar, a BJP corporator, today raised the issue of the attack on Mr Kotak and inaction by the octroi authorities following which the meeting was adjourned.
