Small Scale Industries Ministry gets a new name

New Delhi, Jun 14 (UNI) The Government has merged the erstwhile Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries and formed a new Ministry, namely, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

A Notification of the Cabinet Secretariat has been issued to this effect, according to an official release here today.

In keeping with the new name of the Ministry, the name of the Office of Development Commissioner (Small Scale Industries) has also been changed to Office of the Development Commissioner (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).
