Shopkeeper shot for demanding Rs 30

Varanasi, June 14 (UNI) A shopkeeper was shot at and wounded critically by unidentified miscreants in Parvati nagar in cantonment area here today.

The incident took place at a grocery shop when the shopkeeper demanded Rs 30 for the cold drinks consumed by the alleged miscreants .

When shop-owner Monu Singh (20) asked them to pay Rs 30 as price of cold drinks, the youth opened fire on him, police said.

After committing the crime, the assailants fled the spot.

The grocery trader had been admitted to the district hospital and a manhunt launched to nab the miscreants.
