Samsung to launch first retail store by third quarter

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) Mobile handset maker Samsung Telecommunications India (STI) will launch its first retail store by the third quarter of this calendar year.

''Our first exclusive store will be launched by the third quarter of this year in the NCR region, to be followed by one in Bangalore during the fourth quarter,'' Samsung Marketing General Manager (GSM) Asim Warsi said at the launch of three new Metal Series phones here.

The stores will offer handsets and mobile accessories.

Asked whether the company plans to provide mobile connections, he said: ''We are in talks with a few service providers but it is too early to say anything,'' The outlet will be operational by the end of this year, he said without divulging investment details.

''The store will come up at a prime location in the NCR.

Samsung will open more such outlets pan-India in the future,'' he added.

Samsung mobiles plans to capture a greater share of the GSM market with these stores, from the the current 6.5 per cent.
