Samsung to launch first retail store by Q3

New Delhi, June 14: Mobile handset maker Samsung Telecommunications India (STI) will launch its first retail store by the third quarter of this calendar year.

''Our first exclusive store will be launched by the third quarter of this year in the NCR region, to be followed by one in Bangalore during the fourth quarter,'' Samsung Marketing General Manager (GSM) Asim Warsi said at the launch of three new Metal Series phones here.

The stores will be operational by the end of this year, he said without divulging investment details.

''The store will come up at a prime location in the NCR region and will open more such outlets pan-India,'' he added.

Samsung mobiles plans to capture a greater share of the GSM market with these stores, from the the current 6.5 per cent.
