Pre-monsoon rains continue in UP
Lucknow, June 14 (UNI) The pre-monsoon thundershowers continued to lash Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive day, bringing remarkable dip in temperature.
Isolated places in eastern UP, including the state capital witnessed heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, which according to weather officials was pre-monsoon.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Sultanpur at 107 mm, followed by Bareilly, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Varanasi which stood at 25 mm, 19.8 mm, 14 mm and 10.7 mm respectively. Behraich and Kanpur lagged at 6.5 mm and 5 mm.
Besides, Allahabad, Barabanki and Gonda also recieved rainfall.
The ongoing rains with state have brought a fall of about 11 degrees Celsius below the normal temperature level.
Meanwhile, according to met office several places will witness thundershowers accompanied with lightning in the next 24 hours, whereas, one or two places may record heavy downpour.
