Ahmedabad, June 14 (UNI) A local court today rejected Gujarat CID's application, seeking narco-analysis test of six policemen, including IPS officer D G Vanzara, accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

The counsel of Vanzara and others opposed the narco-analysis tests on the ground that the remand period of all the six policemen was over and they cannot be subjected to any further police custody.

The Defence counsel also argued that the narco-analysis test on any accused cannot be conducted without his approval. The Metropolitan Judge K J Upadhyay rejected the CID's application.

The CID wanted to conduct the tests of Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and M N Dinesh, all of whom have been suspended and police officers N H Dabhi, Santram Sharma and Ajay Parmar.

The prosecution told the court that narco-analysis test of the accuseds is required to find out the motive behind the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin and the alleged murder of his wife Kausar Bi.

Sohrabuddin was killed on November 26, 2005 on the outskirts of Ahmedabad in a joint operation by state Anti-Terrorist Squad and Rajasthan Police.
