Sharad Pawar meets Bardhan in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 14: The National Congress Party (NCP) Chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar met CPI General Secretary A B Bhardhan, at CPI party headquarter here today.

The meeting was held for half and an hour, said CPI National Secretary D Raja but declined to disclose its proceedings.

The dialogue between two leaders is considered to be important in the light of the fact that the left party lacks consensus over the name of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, a frontrunner in Presidential election, as thier Presidential nominee.

The NCP is not very enthusiastic over Mr Patil's candidature for the country's top job but being a constituent of UPA coalition governmemt, the party has announced to lend full support to UPA candidate.
