One killed, 14 injured as two buses collide in Old Goa
Panaji, June 14 (UNI) One passenger was killed and 14 others were injured when a speeding bus, on way to the capital from Valvoi, rammed into the rear of another bus from aside and slammed a roadside tree later at Baiguinim in Old Goa today.
The driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle after he tried to overtake a scooter when the mishap occurred, police inspector Vikas Karte said.
The other bus was going to Cumbarjua from Panaji. Both were private mini-buses, he said.
The driver of the bus, Kamalakar, was arrested in this connection. The seriously injured died on way to the Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim, while the injured were being treated as outpatients, he added.
